Bishop’s Landing is a mixed-use residential commercial development located on Halifax Harbour, which features a range of residential units, specialty retail shops and a significant public waterfront park and boardwalk. The project consists of 206 luxury suites in a two building complex with an underground parking level and containing 30,000 sq. ft. of at grade specialty retail shops and services. The project contains a major public open space component and provides continuous public access to the Halifax Harbour.
The design references regional and local heritage architecture, traditional masonry detail and pitched roofs which provide a unique image for this complex, mixed-use project. Architectural detailing reflects the historic context. Across Lower Water Street are eighteenth century stone and masonry buildings with punched windows, copper clad tower elements and arched openings. These have been interpreted within the new development using modern materials. Details of storefronts, retail signage, canopies, lighting and graphics have been thoughtfully incorporated.
